I have had them for a year now. In Kansas there is no Verizon tower we use another tower so most of my features do not work which sucks and I get crappy reception here, with quite a few dropped calls! All in all I say it depends were you live. My family has Verizon in Illinois so naturally I chose Verizon for the free phone calls to any Verizon phones. I say it is worth the hassle for the free phone calls.

I know a lot of people that are very loyal to Sprint but my family has always used verizon. I'm talking for 10 years and more. We have always been happy with them. Any time I have had a problem with my bill or going over my minutes the customer service has always been willing to go over it with me, examine the plan i have and we have been able to work out a reasonable solution. Usually i only have to pay half the overage fee. SO in answer i'd say yes Verizon is good.

verizon is a great company. certainly there are areas like kansas where expansion is possible.

my suggestion is check the coverage map upon verizon's website to determine if in your area.

cingular may "claim" lower dropped calls. but, what happens while you are connected. poor reception (static, echo) or will the call even be transmitted.

there are a host of other factors besides this one issue which was a one-time study. do they make any other assertions? how are their customer service reps?

check where the outside critics rate cingular & the other providers. there is a strong reasoning for these arbitrary entities to make their assessments.

My parents and my brother have had Verizon phones for years and have been very pleased with them. I had Sprint for a long time and was generally happy with them, but I had a lot of dropped calls. Did Cingular once and will NEVER go back -- they royally screwed me over and basically told me they weren't going to do anything about it, so it was up to me to fix everything they messed up. Stay away from Cingular. Go Verizon.

not sure if they are a "good" company, but their service and attentiveness to billing issues/disputes trumps the likes of Sprint big time. Personally, switched from Sprint to Verizon 2.5 years ago and have no regrets.

Undoubtedly the majority of Verizon Representatives would say so.

It really depends on where you live. You should ask a couple of people in your area how the reception of their phone is. And while you are doing this you can ask about others. From that you can decide on what company to choose from.
