You have to have the international code for america then you dial the 1 then the areas code and so forth!! I love Ireland!! I'm irish myself!!

There are a cheap card fro Lycatel , one of them called Matrix or UniCard
they give you a 1 c per minute
some times there are a free call to the USA offered by this kind of cards

I believe if you dial 011 plus the area code and the phone # it should work. 011 is the country code for America.
