I have been told that it does not have one...I keep having with my jeep and I have been told to change the filter but others say that it does not have a fuel filter

People who don't know what they are talking about only make themselves look stupid when they answer questions that they know nothing about.
The Jeep does not have an external fuel filter, It is attached to the fuel pump in the fuel tank and does not require regular service or replacement.

Yep, I replaced the pump, sending unit and filter on my 97 about 2 years ago for $375. It's a real pain to drop the tank.

Well people tell you wrong every vehicle has a fuel filter!! Yours should be under the drivers side back door on the inside of the frame!! It looks like a canister attached to lines on both ends!! If it not there follow the fuel line from the motor to the fuel tank and you will find it!!!

YEAH Dave, I have seen this same question asked several times and probably the same guy keeps telling them to look on the frame rail under the driver's door area. Apparently they have not tried to replace one cause unless they look in that gastank that aren't going to find it.
Anyhow non serviceable unless you buy an entire sending unit. Cost from $300 up.

that vehicle has a non serviceable fuel filter...it is located in the tank.
