I bought just a stalk from the IKEA store and now its growing rapidly and i don't know what to do with it. It twists at the top and the leaves are growing so fast. Do I trim the leaves or do I just cut the top to form another stalk....help me please?

This is a different angle, angel. Most people have been asking how to kill bamboo. Bamboo is on of the toughest plants on the planet--it's what we at OSU called idiot-proof. You can do just about anything you want, trim it, root the new shoots, etc. If you put it outside keep it confined or you will be writing in in another 2 years asking how to kill bamboo.

various sparkling water, replace it always. I continually take out my bamboo stems and wash them gently in the sink getting some thing slimy off of them and them positioned them again in the sparkling water. image voltaic is major. they should be transforming into a touch even as they're healthful. also, use rocks (small sparkling pebbles, and so on) to help the bamboo shoots and keep them upright. do not positioned too many shoots in all and sundry field. i exploit a pitcher jar/field to enable the elementary through.

for a potted plant you are doing the right thing. To have it grow in your garden, check to see if your climate is suitable to the bamboo that you have... when you cut off a shoot to start a new one, plant it, fertilize well, and repeat, you should get many bamboo plants from one. But keep your eye on the bamboo, it will try to take over your garden.

Hang on Angel! Simply stuff a bamboo shoot into the ground and voila' you will have bamboo. Research those that clump vs those that spread.

Yes, if you cut the top it will sprout more shoots. The top you cut off can also be rooted. Sounds like you are doing fine with it!
