Is it coming on when the car is idling low? If it is don't worry about it! just adjust the idle a little bit higher!! If it is staying on constantly then your battery or alternator is on its way out!!

Normally it indicates that either your generator or battery are having problems. It can also indicate a problem in the wiring. The way the lights work is that they're normally positive on both sides on the bulb. If there's a problem one side becomes negative and the current flows through the bulb. Sometimes there's a fault in the wiring that lets the current flow without there being a fault. You need to get things checked out to be sure.

You are having a problem in your charging system. You should first check the charging rate of the car. Should be approx. 14.5 Volts @ 2000 RPM. Most times you have a bad alt. Check the regulars, belts, wiring, working battery acc. To do a diagnosis you will need a amp meter and volt meter. If you have further question you can PM me

it could be one of several things....loose connection...loose belt...bad alternator ( regulator could be bad, but is internal to alternator ).....does light go off as engine revs ? ...a loose connector at alternator can even cause this. go to reliable repair person and pay for a electrical systems check to find out. You can get free checks at some of the chain auto stores...but sometimes free means you get what you paid for.
