do you think they'll end up sweeping with the Twins poor remaining starting pitchers?

Santana won't be available to pitch until game 4.

Good question. I know, according to player statements, that they feel threatened (game-wise) by Santana, and the others not so much.

Honestly, though...Santana is GREAT. Even with today's loss, he still is. But I think that the other players underestimate the Twin's other pitchers. Radke was hot with his first game back, Boof Bonser is doing well. Also, if someone told YOU that (in a baseball game) they were not threatened by you, wouldn't you want to prove it to them that you are? I think it has the reverse effect. I mean, look at Pierzynski. MN Twins fans boo him when he gets on the field. But he ended up getting a run in Friday's game (regardless) I think some players thrive on that, and it makes them stronger. Hopefully, that's the case with the other Twins pitchers!!

They won't sweep the A's, but if they beat Santana today, there is a solid chance they will end up taking the series in 4. I do not think they will beat Santana twice, but if they can hold on today, they have a good shot to win in 4.

I just do not think they can sweep the Twins...if the Twins loose today, I think they will rebound tomorrow.

It's a short series, so it's impossible to say. I do think the Twins are counting on a Santana win today, so it will be tough, but it's not out of the question that the Twins could come right back.

And all it takes, too, is a big start from someone unexpected to turn things right back around.

That's a good question. I think we should cross our fingers, pray, whatever, because the Twins have always had the A's number. It's not over until its over. So I wouldn't count on any lineup (hitting or pitching) to predict the outcome. You could do that with the Yankees but not with this matchup.

Maybe not a sweep, but the Twins are in trouble.

Boof...what a maroon.

They might have a good chance of winning the series because they have the upper hand if they win the first game
