YES it should be. But some people spend more time throwing insults around than they do in making our nation successful ~ or even figuring out how to do that.

Politics are getting in the way of loving my country! Success of our nation is not only military operations!! You don't seem to understand that many years have been spent within the Oil industries working toward this war. That's as big a sell out as we can have for our American people. I don't hate conservatives, but I don't trust them to do the right thing. Greed and arrogance make blind leaders.

No...the success of the country should NOT be the top priority. The success of the country's people should be. Any advance for the country at the expense of its people and their civil rights is an evil twisting of the ideals that this country was founded on. This is SUPPOSED to be a government of, by, and for the people...NOT a government of, by, and for itself.

People have no shame anymore. It used to be, things went to a vote and however that vote went, people got behind it out of respect for the system and their fellow citizens. Now, if someone votes against something, they just flat don't go along with it. Everyone seems to think that the world should be however they voted and anyone that disagrees is an idiot. I think the problem started with "self-esteem" pumping in schools. People are no longer prepared to debate with someone with opposing view points in a constructive manner. Everyone has a superiority complex and refuses to look at the other's point of view.

One again you are right. Many people on the left are people who in general do not like rules and hierarchy. To a small extent it is justified since rulers often abuse their power. What some do not realize is that anarchy would be far worse because we would live in a Mad Max kind of world. Communism would be bad also because the rich would no longer exist and be able to pay for the poor. Also the people who are rich, most got there through hard work and motivation, under communism that motivation would disappear and there would be nothing to redistribute.

Yes our nation should be a priority. But it isn't. The islamic nation is our priority. Are you suggesting that we bring our troops home to protect our borders, and that we go into debt for the sake of our OWN citizens, rather than the citizens of Iraq? No, you are one who believes every poor person in america is lazy, and to blame, and every poor person in Iraq deserves to have a brand new country funded by us. Nice thinking...

Success can be determined by many, many different factors. I feel that if we keep our Constitution and Bill of Rights in tact, That will be a success.

Uh - no. The people of our nation should be the highest priority. To do that we have to return to being a democracy first.
