I find it disgusting that I can name killers who have slaughtered innocent people, but cannot name a single victim. Making a big hoo-haa about them is giving them what they crave most - notoriety.
Should this practice end? Would it make a difference?

Yes if the media would not name them im sure things would change . Killers thrive off of notoriety. Yet their victims get 2 seconds of air time i do not understand it.

Nope , people that use violence because they have a problem should not be made popular by the media. Both my parents were killed by a man fleeing from police after a robbery , people still know the robbers name around here 40 years later. He didn't use a gun , but the point is still the same.

The authorities purposefully leaves the names of the victims out of the reports out of respect for their families.Just think, how would you feel if your brother or sister was shot in a school shooting and you had the media hounding you day and night asking you how you felt about your relative being gunned down. Not very pleasant, is it?
