My friend... Has been in a long term relationship, they are both in their late 20's, and now she is pressuring him to get married! She constantly tells him when they're going to get married and gets mad when he tells her, that the moment is not right. He is not financially able to support a family right now (he works at a grocery store, but its not enough) So far, he has applied for the Border Patrol and the Police Department, (waiting to be accepted into academy) but his girlfriend keeps on insisting. One last detail, he is a citizen and she is an illegal.. They both have a long time togheter in this relationship, everything was going fine until she started pressuring and asking him when they're going to get married..
What should he do? or tell her?

The reason she insists on getting married is because she wants to be with him and because most of her sisters are married already and they ask her when she's going to get married with my friend

ok just so you know since the other idiot answering this question for you don't. It's not that easy to get your green card by marring someone so MAYBE just maybe she might just love him and wants to get married. but if there is any suspicion that that maybe why she is pressuring him then he needs to talk about it to her. not yell but ask her if love isn't the only reason she wants to marry him. He needs to at least tell her that he wants this job(tell her calmly) and if he does want to marry her and all the intentions are good from her (in other words she's just being a woman and wants to get married) then he should let her know that they will have a long engagment and propose to her so she calms down.

Tell her to cool her jets or he'll make a few additional points with the Border Patrol regarding her status.
By the way...tell your buddy having an illegal as a wife will not sit well in the law enforcement community. So...have him dump her. Especially if he lands one of those two jobs. She'll be a burden anyway. That's plain to see right now!

There's nothing wrong with her desire to get married. There's nothing wrong with his reluctance to do so. In an ideal world, she would leave and find a person who is financially and emotionally ready to have a family (there are plenty of accomplished individuals in their late 20s, we're not talking youngsters here). But it is not an ideal world, and it sounds like she may be stuck with this guy for various reasons. I guess, she will just have to wait until he is "ready" (which may or may not happen).

Sounds like someone needs an excuse to stay in the country. Be careful. I know a few people this has happened to. You marry them then they take off because they are legal and you can't find them to get a divorce.

Tell your friend to asked his girlfriend on why she insist on getting married. If he isnt ready for marriage, then she should not be pushing it too much. Maybe she is afraid that something might happen to her especially if she is illegal.

She only wants to get married to be a legal citizen. THATS IT! I can see why she is getting mad at him, it causing her problems. The guy needs to move on and find a lady that loves him. He wants to get his life together before he moves into a marriage. He needs to move on, I don't see that she loves him and is only using him to become a legal citizen, so he has a tough choice to make.

Ok if she is illegal then how do they have a lot of time together in the relationship? It really sounds like she is after a green card.

He needs to focus on himself right now. He may need to temporarily break it off, or just take a break for this. Also since she's looking for citizenship, this will help him know if he really loves her or is looking for her citizenship. Some serious talk about this may help her to let up a little.

Well, the devil is in the details. OF COURSE THE ***** WANTS TO MARRY, AND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. SHE WANTS TO BE LEGAL. HE MUST BE AN IDIOT AND A TRAITOR ANYWAY FOR DATING THE ILLEGAL SKANK TO START WITH.
