I found a site online that claims to have the specifications for all fifty states of the USA regarding massage therapy. It shows how much study time you have to put in. There are two states which do not require study program or exam. For someone like myself I feel it would help if I could get some practice in just to get used to the idea. I'm not used to putting my hands on people all that much.

You do not need a college degree to massage, however you do need a license. This is aquired by going to school at one of your local establishments. I have heard of some schooling taking as long as 2 years to graduate. Most schools are 10-12 months depending on whether you attend full or part time. After you graduate, you can then take the test for licensing. I went part time in the evenings and graduated in just under one year. This is if you want to be a professional massage therapist.

No you dont but you do have to go to a 2 year massage program to get liscensed ..It is actually pretty hard but like anything it can be done. Their are alot of qualified people ou there with no place to work ..THE best route is to get your businees degree and open up ur on parlor and hire 3-4 workers ...I pity the fool that does not bring in the cash flow.....THIS IS WHAT my sister did.

Nope all you need is a couple of hands. Oh and on the plus side 90% of massages lead to sex, do you need a degree to have sex?

It depends on what you want to do...if you want to work alone, visiting your clients at their home, i think that you don't need a degree. But if you want to work at a health center you must have one
