We try to prevent any type of accident from happening. Seat belts are overrated, bicylce helmets, ect. If you got some stupid driver not wearing his seat belt and he crashes and dies, then that is one less stupid driver on the road. This world is overpopulated and all we do is try to prevent anyone from dying, thus adding to the population problem. Anyone ever heard of natural selection? You do something stupid, you die and dont live to create more stupid people.

It's not just about whether people live or die, it's about whether they...

- kill someone else in the process
- turn themselves into a vegetable that needs to be kept alive, cared for and paid for by others for as long as they live
- become disabled and in need for help (welfare, medical treatment etc.) for the rest of their lives
- die and leave behind children that will grow up without parents and need help from the state.

It's not only bad drivers and stupid people that get killed either. Great drivers, innocent passengers and smart people can have bad drivers and other idiots kill them or causing permanent disabilities at any time.

I certainly don't want to spend the rest of my life disabled and/or in pain over somebody else's stupidity if I can avoid that or reduce the risk by a simple thing like a seatbelt.
