Many prisons offer both community college and university programs within the institution that could lead to a degree. He will probably have an opportunity to check it out.

i did the same , made a stupid one and got 6 yrs. the prision system, at least on the federal level offers very little education, basically none, but one can send off to a university and do a corr. course through the mail . lots of colleges do offer such programs, but the hard part for the incarcerated person is paying for the materials and the course. the prision system does not help with financial aid and there are no more pell grants, so this will be where you could help him out?also some institutions have programs set up to help one get a degree, but you still have to pay for each credit hour, but they do offer reduced rates, all depends on the level of prision, state or federal, camp or medium security, ect..hope this helps.

His attorney should be able to help him with this. Access to higher education is state funded for prisoners (depends on what state but I'm sure Cali. complies). As far as online/at home courses, any one can take them. He just has to have access to a computer so again it depends on the prison.

I would go online to colleges in your area and just inquire about the subject at hand.
