i think u have to live in those states to get any kind of benfiets or that sort of thing.... i was woundering that too

you have to get your dissolution through the CT courts. You can't get it through another state, as other states don't HAVE civil unions, so they have no laws to do it.

However - it's important that you get it done!!! Don't forget, in addition to the BENEFITS of marriage, we also have the RESPONSIBILITIES of marriage. If you have broken up with your spouse, you are STILL liable for their bills, etc. until you get that divorce.

I live in VT, but i have no clue what your talking about. Do you mean civil unions? I think you have to be in those states in order for it to be legal.
