1 good thing may be a game where you draw a little chart on the board ( like 5 rows up 5 rows across ) label 1 side with numbers and the other with letter ( side numbers, top letters ) and divide the class into 2 even teams. And call out triva questions and let them answer the question and choose a square if they get it correct( sort of like battle ship but dont put the spots near each other ) and check with a card that you pre drawn with marks on it. Give them a point if they hit. If they cannot answer the question correctly the other team gets a chance to steal and so on until you are of of "hits".

In High School and in College, our instructors would play their rendition of Jeopardy before the test, not on the same day of course. We would be divided up in teams, holding a colored card or paper to indicate a person's turn (sometimes two per team could answer, but really whoever of those two people who held up their card or paper first), we were allowed to use our notes and books but not each other. Whatever team and individual racked up the most points, that team and and individual would get a certain amount of points awarded towards their grade but not the actual amount of points won from the game, but points you have already set and told to the class, like 20 points etc. for the winning team. The losing teams would get points too, but less of course towards their grade. Hope this helps you in your rendition of this game. It's fun and also helps the class to study ahead of time of the game...hopefully...and be more prepared for the test the next time class meets.

Well this does depend on the ages of your students. If you're going to give out prizes make sure that it's fair to all in the class. Most of the time kids don't even need prizes just the fact that they won is enough to keep them happy. With younger kids make sure that they either all get prizes or none. Otherwise you'll have a bunch of angry and jealous kids, and they may not want to participate next time. Just remember to make it fun.

I'm not a teacher, but we played a game called "trust/walk". the way you play you have your students pair off into pairs of two. then you have blind folds over one partner and you hold there hands and guide them through the classroom by holding hands or wrist (whichever is comfortable) you must do this with no speaking. the you switch. you then stop the game and you asked the kids on what they thought about there game. Then after they have answered you have them do it again only this time there is no touching and they can only follow your voice. you have both partners do it and then evaluate the group again.

I told this to my daughters and their friends and other people and it had them puzzling it out for hours!!!

On a piece of paper you make them write personal information, or a characterstic, or likes and dislikes, basically anything, but without putting their names Later after they have finished you tell them to wrinkle their paper smash into a ball and for about a minute you can have a snow ball fight. After the student picks up the nearest paper and tries to figure out who the person is.
