It is almost impossible whoever is in power to keep to their promises, each respective party has to carry out the laws passed by the previous party probally why this country is in such a mess.

No. Neither would he follow his party manifesto. Once in office [if elected] he will first have to go over the 'books' if the sums do not add up, he will have to abandon any idea of tax cuts; as yet not promised by the way. A new Conservative gov may even have to raise taxes to meet commitments put in place by the previous gov - eg building new nuke power stations etc.
Is it time that we the people put into law a bill which made it mandatory for all elected govs to fulfil their manifesto promises? All we need do is classify a manifesto as a contract of employment - they break this contract and we sack them. Oh! and they don't get a pay rise without our vote on the issue. Nay to that.

Unfortunately no Government keeps all its pledges or promises.
They always find reasons for not having done so.The electorate are the people who have an opportunity every five years maximum to discipline political parties. It is probably better the devil you know than the devil you don't with political parties but do not expect sincerity or truth from any of them, they do not understand the concept. The politicians in the main though are sincere people and believe what they do is best for the country, and of course their party and themselves, and not always in that order.

What pledges? And anyway, who makes sure any party does what it says? No one. Every party promises things in election time that it never even attempts to deliver.

Conservatives and cutting taxes! Just work out how much you will save if your taxes are cut and you are an 'average earner!' It isn't worth the vote, that's for sure.
He has only made suggestions as far as I can tell and no pledges.
It is all electioneering - and you are looking at voting in the wrong way.
Just listen to and vote for the MP that will locally do the best for you and that you trust in. Forget National Party Politics - it is the way they want us to vote rather than the way we should vote.

I don't think it matters. Successive governments have torn up parts of their manifesto simply because they could not be bothered or bit off more than they could chew.
Ill vote for Cameron simply because hes not Gordon Brown....although maybe it is just Tony Blair in new suit.....

He might try, but I doubt it. It would all depend on the 1922 committee, that is behind everything that the Conservatives do, and they have only their self interest at heart, so if it doesn't benefit them, the answer is no.
