My husband is in a neck brace from an accident and stays at home every single day. He's usually in a good mood, but for the past 2 days he's been really depressed. He doesn't like to go out because every one stares and asks questions about the neck brace. I want to do something nice for him and take him somewhere where he can enjoy getting out but not having to deal with anybody. We live in North county san diego and I was thinking about a picnic on a cliff overlooking the ocean or something like that. I dont want to have to drive all the way down to san diego though. Any ideas?

Making and keeping somebody happy is not at all simple job. No need to go for outing. So what you have to do is, yourself try to be in a happy mood, then your happiness will definitely pass to him.

Have a car picnic. Take a nice drive with some lovely music you both like. Stop and get food and bring it back to the car . Sit and eat and talk or sing along with the music. Go home and give him a good back scrub while he takes a nice hot bath or shower. Relax with him in bed and continue your conversation. Just enjoy your time together.

go to TJ anyone asking questions wll be in spanish and go to the beach a couple of beers and maybe some TLC. thatd be neat buy a sombrero and take some pictures and laugh at them when the brace comes off.

Your idea sounds good to me. Make lots of his favorite food to take and bring a bottle of wine and some blankets and big pillows to make him comfortable.
Bring along some old photos of the two of you and reminisce.... hope he is feeling better soon.
