Easyway – Allen Carr.

Honestly it is the only way I have ever known to actually help people quite, stay quit and be damn happy about it...unfortunately most people think the idea of an easy way to quit smoking is nonsense as people think it needs to be hard…it really doesn't. All my friends who have quit smoking have used it and it worked great for them, I bought a coppy of the book for one of my close friends myself, although he has still yet to read it.

This does exactly what it says, it is an easy way to stop smoking, and the way it works is essentially by de-programming the ingrained notions you have on smoking and quitting smoking so that it deals with the psychological problems of your smoking rather than the chemical. The chemical addiction is not the problem, you can go all night without being woken up by a craving, you will find sometimes you're having so much fun you forget to have a cigarette, quitting smoking does not have serious withdrawal.

Socially we are taught that smoking needs to be difficult, we live now in a very anti-smoking society, rather than a pro-quitting society, where there is no real support for people to quit, it teaches non-smokers that smokers are idiots and smokers that they have to suffer when they quit – if you believe it is difficult, this makes quitting smoking difficult – you believe to quit smoking requires will power and that quitting smoking will be depriving yourself of something you like doing, when you do not really like doing it, nor are you depriving yourself of anything, you are actually gaining something by quitting smoking.

Problem with most methods is that they will either involve going cold-turkey or nicotine replacement. Cold-turkey is not only depriving yourself of smoking but it is also just dealing with the chemical addiction rather than dealing with the psychological, nicotine replacement isn't depriving you however it is again only dealing with the chemical addiction, this is not the problem with smoking.

Allen Carr can explain this far better than I can, so let me just stick to telling you about Easyway – yes, it sounds gimmicky but it is the only way I have ever seen anyone quit smoking for good, and the only method to quit smoking that I have seen people happy with rather than being moody miserable and remaining under the impression that they need to fight the urge to smoke every day for the rest of their lives.

A book on Easyway from Amazon will set you back just £4, less than a pack of cigarettes, the book also offers money off their clinics – their clinics boast well over 90% success rate and give you a money-back guarantee – so that is just £4 you are spending for something that will help you quit smoking, be happy about quitting smoking and remain a non-smoker.

Not only that but you are allowed to carry on smoking while you are reading the book, in fact you are specifically told to carry on smoking while you read and the further you get into the book the less you want to smoke.

Check out the book reviews;

You really don't know unless you try it, I honestly recommend this to everyone I know, a lot of people are too scared to try it because they aren't ready to quit yet, but all those who have read it agree it is fantastic and the only sensible way to go about quitting smoking.

The best way is not to give up but set a date to cut down.. lets say next Monday..

so on Monday try and not smoke.. but you can have a cigarette when you want, but make a note of when and where.. keep this up for a few days.

after you have found out when you most want to smoke. prolly after a meal or when out drinking you will have to plan to do something else during that time.. so after a meal take the dog for a walk.. with a drink.. well either quit drinking or find a no smoking pub .. then try putting it all into practise.. it's not so much the smoking that is the habit but when you do it. give it a go, what have you got to lose?

I know this is going to sound really bizzare, but I stopped smoking 5 years ago after smoking for 43 years,I had to because of breast cancer.Obviously it was really hard it's so habitual and the craving is terrible. There was one thing that got me through it.Obviously you miss the high the ciggs give you, I obtained this only by chance sniffing a jar of strong pickle one day, also I obtained the same high from sniffing Perno, once again by accident.
I was at home allday so it was easy for me to go to the cupboard when I got the craving. If he were to buy a miniature bottle of one of the spirits that are quite pungent,he could carry it on him.If that doesn't work for him,he could always drink it,that would make him feel a lot better anyway.Try it, it worked for me,and it's cheaper than the patches or any other anti smoking aid.

There are lots of anti smoking aids on the market now, they help a lot but it all comes down to will power in the end. Tell your friend to avoid the places were she/he likes to smoke the most. Pubs and discos or any other place when just about everyone lights up. The + points are far better than the - ones to stopping smoking. Good Luck. PS .Ex smoker.

Its not just the nicotine. Its also the other 50+ chemicals they out in cigarettes. Also the main problem is habit.
We have been used to having body sensations which we translate as 'my body needs something, which we have attempted to satisfy by having a cigarette.
When we try to stop smoking, we still get these 'my body needs something' sensations, and we still feel that we want a cigarette. We have to train our body to be more selective. When we feel we need something, we have to work out what it is that we actually need.
A glass of water is an excellent substitute if nothing else comes to mind, as it helps with the clearance of the toxic substances in our body. Another good substitute is a bag of salted peanuts, used in combination with the water.
Another thing to do is to find an activity which occupies the mind or body. Go swimming - nobody wants to smoke while they are swimming. Slowly, as our body adjusts and translates the 'want something' feelings into something other than cigarettes, then the feelings begin to go away. We know its not a cigarette that the body really needs, because as soon as we've had one we still have the feeling, and want another!

I chewed for a good few years, giving up was tough but I think I have some advice for you. What I did was bought like 20 gallons of bottled water, multivitamins, and vitamins C packets. I told myself that when I wake up the next day I will not have a chew from this day on, started drinking a ton of water with vitamins C, started jogging and using a sauna. What I did gave my body the ability to sweat and pee out as much nicotine as possible. I kept that going for a good week, until I really didn't crave nicotine as much. I recommend the cold turkey approach, keeping in mind that the battle is against nicotine. I also found replacing the physical activity of chewing was easily replaceable with gum and sunflower seeds. I could never ween myself off because my body would always want just a little more nicotine, usually leading to regular usage. Hope that helps, sometimes you just have to tackle it head on

Ok ive never smoked but this is how i got my uncle and aunt to quit. You take a sealable jar and fill it 3/4 of water. You then take 3-5 cigerettes and put them in the jar (seal it). Let it sit and when the person desires a smoke open the jar and have them take a nice long smell of the contents. It has worked for 4 people i kno.

Carry a bag of Julienned carrot (raw). When you fancy a toke, have a piece of carrot instead. You look like a complete tw*t, standing in the smoking area, eating carrot but you will have the last laugh because..your eyesight will improve & you will see the boss coming sooner and be able to scarper before the smokers do! You watch, they will be selling 20 jullienne carrots in a bag soon. betcha...betcha! Phhwwwooooop! If that dont work, then nothing will! Except, maybe, hypnosis or tobacco chewy or patches or fake cigs or rose-hip cigs or praying or someone getting or dying of cancer who's close to you (guilt)... Just stop its the sh*ts is smoking!

I've read through these websites, it could have an effect on your freind (as it did with me) and hopefully they should quit or maybe cut down. One of them is for Teen but otherwise it should give you sufficient information.

Give your freind all my best wishes and luck. She may find it very difficult at first but as long as she has got a helping freind she'll be fine ;-)

Just make up your mind and go cold turkey! It is hard work for 2 weeks but after that it gets easier every day. I have been off them for over 7 months now and don't regret stopping at all. There is no benefit what so ever in smoking. You stink, your health suffers and your teeth go yellow! Good luck to your friend and try and be supportive!
