u usually ovulate between 10 and 14 days after your last period or 10 to 14 days before your period is due, but the best way to do it without guessing is to buy one of those ovulating kits, you can usually get them from boots. failing that have sex every day lol .

Not every woman ovulates on day 14 or 14 days before her next period is due - even if she has a regular cycle. Therefore, don't count on any web-site that tells you when you ovulate based on how long your cycle is.

Try charting your daily basal body temperature. Check out fertilityfriend.com. It will give you valuable information on signs of ovulation and you can chart your bbt for free.

You can also use ovulation kits. I used the Clear Blue Easy kit which cost about $20 for 7 tests.

One good sign of ovulation is when your cervical mucus (discharge) looks like raw egg whites. This usually happens just before ovulation. The best days to have sex are the 2 days prior to ovulation and the day of when ttc.

If you have been trying for a while, you may want to consult with your OBGYN. It doesn't hurt to get a complete physical and routine tests done to eliminate any problems that might interfere with ttc. Many women wait a year or longer to seek professional help. Most can have success with an OBGYN and not have to go to a fertility specialist. Since it can get frustrating and depressing when ttc, why wait to get help. Good luck.

I'm doing the same thing right now! I typed in ovulation calender on my search engine and it brought me to a sight that I just put in the first day of my last period and it told me when I was fertile and how much. It also told me the day I would ovulate, first day to take a pregnancy test, and a rough due date, if you were to conceive that particular month. You can even track your ovulation for up to 3 months. Good luck!

Melissa B hit the nail on the head.

Also, the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler is an absolute neccessity for TTCing. It helps you understand all of your fertility sings and help pinpoint ovulation.

The biggest indicator is that egg white cervical fluid although some women don't ever get it. Ovulation predictor kits are helpful if you can catch your LH surge.

I'm in the same boat you are except this will be my first if it ever happens for us. I heard you know your ovulating when your vaginal secretions get thicker and clear. I dont know but I think I am going to try one of those ovulation kits. Good luck!

take your temperature everyday for a month or 2. Learn what your normal temp is. When it's the highest you are probably ovulating.

You may want to use a special thermometer just for ovulation predicition. I hear they are more sensitive. The difference could be a tenth of a degree.

You ovulate on day 12-14. Count the first day of your period as day 1.
If you have irregular periods you may have polysistic ovaries and it is worth checking with your GP who can refer you to a fertility consultant where they may give you tablets to regulate your periods.
Good luck

Someone once told me the best way and easiest way to get pregnant is to have sex everyother day. When we, women, start charting and really start stressing about getting pregnant our body plays tricks on us and we will start feeling things and think the best - worst!

So have sex everyother day! (I am sure your hubby wont mind) and buy ovulation tests.. Start taking the test on day 10 until you get two solid blue lines.

A good webiste if you decide you want to chart is mymonthlycycles.com... I love it! Its a great way to just know your period and know how you operate.

Best of luck!
