as soon as the democratic operatives resign, who sat on the information till a month before the election. And obstructed justice by not revealing the information to the authorities in a timely manner. the emails were from 03' !
So a republican must resign if he gets gay with kids, but what about a democrat? should he remain in office, win reelection and then retire 13 years later? Congressman Studds, Democrat, MA did just that. with a 17 yr old boy paige. double standard? or is there something about the liberal bastion of massachusetts that reelects admitted man-boy lovers?

The MSM is not the 4th branch of Government and elected reps are not obligated to follow their request at all!
What the Dems want (besides power obviously) is to try to force Hastert to step down, then they can start chanting, "If he was innocent he wouldn't have resigned!"

Well if he cares anything about the image and integrity (or what little they have left) of the Republican Party then he would resign as soon as possible. Especially since he failed to do the right thing once he was told about the nasty emails.

Strange where was the equal treatment of Mel Reynolds?
In August of 1994, he was indicted for having sex with a sixteen-year-old campaign volunteer yet was allowed to continue running for re-election. In November of 1994 he was reelected. Reynolds initially denied what he claimed were racially motivated charges. On August 22, 1995 he was convicted on 12 counts of sexual assault, obstruction of justice and solicitation of child pornography. He resigned his seat on October 1, 1995.
Reynolds was sentenced to five years in prison and expected to be released in 1998. However, in April of 1997, he was convicted on fifteen counts of bank fraud and lying to SEC investigators and as a result, was sentenced to an additional six and a half years in federal prison. After serving 42 months of his 78 month sentence, U.S. President Bill Clinton commuted his sentence and Reynolds served the balance in a half way house.
And what about Gerry Studds...........
Studds is remembered chiefly for his role in the Congressional page sex scandal in 1983, when he and Representative Dan Crane were censured by the House of Representatives for separate sexual relationships with a minor – in Studds's case, a 1973 relationship with a 17-year-old male congressional page.
During the course of the House Ethics Committee's investigation, Studds publicly acknowledged his homosexuality, a disclosure that, according to a Washington Post article, "apparently was not news to many of his constituents." Studds stated in an address to the House, "It is not a simple task for any of us to meet adequately the obligations of either public or private life, let alone both, but these challenges are made substantially more complex when one is, as I am, both an elected public official and gay."
As the House read their censure of him, Studds turned his back and ignored them. Later, at a press conference with the former page standing beside him, the two stated that what had happened between them was nobody's business but their own.

He won't.No crime has been committed. This is just a democrat smear.Though truly we are grateful Foley no longer represents the republican party. That is where it ends.
Oh and don't be surprised if the republican replacement wins the seat.Over the next week or two the real story will come out.
