Punished? I assume you mean abuse.. I have been with a boyfriend when I was 14yr that threw me against brick walls slapped me etc. I have come to a point in my life any man touches me they are going to get a *** kicking or a bullet to the skull. I am now 29yr and married so I dont have to worry about that anymore my dh doesn't ever yell or raise a hand.

I have seen a friend go through it and her daughter saw it and I asked her what is more important your daughter or this loser?? She finally left him and took her daughter, of course he played the same song and dance I will change crap but hardly to never happens. She is way better off and so is her daughter.

Yes. Macho men that think they can control their wife's every move. If she ever does anything to violate his orders, then she will get a punishment. Whether it be a beating or something else, he will find a way to make her repent for her wrong doings. Some ignorant men still belive this is the true way to have their wife "obey" them. Women need to stand tall for themselves, and put an end to this before it is too late. Why did our mother's teach us this was ok? They never knew any better, they were naive. But I assume in this day and age, it is understood that this is ultimately not the way to go.

oh and another issue that really bothers me is women having to tell their husbands everywhere they go, and everything they do. Having to ask him permission to go out like if he's her boss/ father. lets be I n d e p e n d e n t .

Frequently, in this day and age you see more women dominating the male population than men do. I am a person that feels equal with my man, but his brothers aren't so lucky in the woman area. Each of there wives are very controling and lay the guilt trip on really thick to keep their husbands in check...also if that doesn't work, then it "bitchy" time. It is common, but you have to just be the support (if possible) for the soul you are trying to comfort. But I have to say that me and my fiance have both been abused by our ex's, so I guess we support each other when it comes to life because the mental part will never end, just start to smooth out. I don't think there is one person alive that hasn't been abused in some form or another, if there is, it is a miracle.

I have been punished by my first husband for just about anything smacked around like I was his child instead of his wife/partner. Needless to say we had started going to a mediator for our issues, 3 months after the mediation had begun, he passed away from arthitis of the heart. he was 29 years older than me.

I don't like the way you refer to it as "punished" It is abuse.

My mother's second husband used to really beat her. I'm 30 now and its still traumatizing to me now even though it happened 22 years ago. One time he broke her ribs because she didn't say "bless you" after he sneezed. She'd be dead now if she had stayed with that jerk.

Well, my mother used to get "punished" by my father. that was when they barley got married and had kids, but now, my mother is not an idiot anymore because she doesn't even let him touch her. So my mother is now the tough guy in the house. but i just hate to se them fight I'd just wish for my family to be very happy!

I HAVE SEEN A COUPLE SHOPPING AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE MAN GRABS HIS WIFE BY THE ARM(GRABS HER HARD YOU CAN SEE THE PAIN IN HER EYES) AND DRAGS HER OUT OF THE STORE WHILE YELLING AT HER. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT SHE DID OR SAID TO MAKE HIM MAD, BUT IT WAS A HORRIBLE THING TO WITNESS. I WANTED TO KICK HIS *** (BUT BEING A GIRL THERE WASN'T MUCH I COULD DO).NO ONE DESERVES TO BE TREATED THAT WAY, ESPECIALLY BY THEIR HUSBAND WHO IS SUPPOSED TO LOVE AND CHERISH THEM.
