In all honesty the only thing that has Even made me jump a bit has been Jeepers Creepers... I like both movies and when I saw the first one in the theater it made me jump a few times... Other than that I can't think of any real scary movies... good luck..I forgot about *Silent Hill* it was a good movie... Not scary to me but it could be scary to others...
A good comical zombie movie is "Shawn of the Dead" I'm showing it at my Halloween party because it's Awesome.... I actually watch that movie 3 or 4 times a month... I just can't get enough of it... It's not scary though but it is worth watching....

Saw 1 & 2. It's not really scary, but it's more gross than anything else. Oh, and the actual Scary Movies 1 & 2 & 3 & 4. Wrong Turn is a good one too. Probably not even into the ones I mentioned but I figure I'd give you suggestions. :)

Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Halloween movies, Friday the 13th movies, the Amithville Horror, the Excorcist (which I wouldn't let any child watch) lots of horror movies that usually can be found in the horror section at your local movie rental place

Faces of Death! I don't know if you can rent em though. Although I've never saw it I heard Killer Clowns from Outter Space is supposed to be one to the scariest movies ever!
Also heard Pumpkin Head is a great Halloween movie!

Prince of Darkness - John Carpenter directs with Donald Pleasance and a cameo by Alice Cooper.
Maybe not the scariest ever made but it always manages to get to me.

Nightmare on Elm Street 3 is my favourite, but the classic one is the 1st.
Have a great night.

The Evil Dead part 1 was scary. Part 2 & 3 were more comedic. Dead Alive is also a good one if you want gore.

Watch the original Exorcist. And the american version of The Ring. Those are probably the two scariest movies of all time. Perfect.
