women, i think, are just emotionally stronger than men - they have their girfriends to lean on, cry with & empower them - men, on the other hand, sometimes do not take women seriously especially when a breakup is concerned - they figure she is weak and will change her mind with enough badgering & that she cannot live without a man - i am going thru that with my ex - he never thought i would actually walk away & now he is so pathetically trying to get me back - i have no feeling left for him at this point, but he just won't move on.

Human nature, men don't like rejection. Gives em the lil'man complex like oh my god what do you mean you dont want to be with me anymore? What did I do, what am I not doing? Is there something wrong with me? lol but the best way to dump a guy is to just be honest tell him how you feel whether it be that you just dont feel the same way he does, or that the timing isnt right. Honesty is the best policy unless he's a psycho then tell him you've been lying to him and have an arrainged marriage set up by your parents since you were 5 lol. Hope this helps

Well, for the most part, cause men are more reasonable. We dont play the head and mind games with ourselves that you women do. Women can tell themselves anything and may then change it in five minutes to the exact opposite. And they wont ever see the contradiction.
When a man really loves, he loves. When a woman loves, it is whatever she feels today.
If he needs help understanding, ask him to contact me or some other guys on here. We can help him understand how he has lost nothing at all and why he should be grateful to you for saying we are done.

How exactly do u know that darling? have you seen millions of men and women going through breakups?? I would have thought men deal with it better than anything else, since many of them seem to bottle it up and manage to push it away and get on with their lives, whereas a lot of women seem to moan about it and become moody. im not saying they cope in these ways for definite as that would be sterotyping, i just feel, in my own personal experience (in which i can say, coming from a pretty 'rough' part of the country i have seen many breakups with friends, family and acquantainces) that this seems to happen often.

They have a harder time because men don't usually have the support system to handle breakups that the females have.

What I thought men handled much better than women. Break up with him the most honest way you know how. Don't call/answer his calls. Pack his stuff sit it on the porch and change the locks. Tell his mom to tell him. C'mon youknow what to do.

it depends on the person really, but as a statistic, women tend to be strong than men emotionally. the best way to handle break ups is to be honest with the person as to why you are breaking and to be considerate of their feelings. after that, limited to no contact until they are over the break up is important. otherwise, they'll never get over you.

I believe it's because we let our feelings out. We get all the hurt and anger out of our systems so in the end we feel better. Men on the other hand keep it bottled up inside so it eats away at them for years.

I think that men take it better. Us women will sit at home and cry our eyes out, and the men's equivalent of sulking is going to the bar and getting hammered with their boys.
