Presumably it is job you have been given to do, so maybe just imaging what your partner will do to you if you don't it (which would not be good) or what they might do to you if you do the job (which I'm guessing would be more agreeable!). The promise of a bit of lovin is always a good motivator to do the cackiest of jobs! It is also more fun in fresh covers eh?

Go to Tesco and buy some cleaning sprays that smell good - one for the kitchen, one for the furniture, one for the windows and one for the bathroom the "own brand " ones will do and they're cheaper. Get plenty of those white cleaning cloths so you can really see the dirt coming off and throw them into a bucket of bleachy water as they get too dirty too use. Throw out ten items from each room as you clean, to reduce clutter and let you get at the surfaces. I know we're meant to be environmentally friendly and not use chemicals, but you can go down that road later, after you've started enjoying having the place clean and fresh.

Well, I'm pregnant so I've been in a kinda nesting mood but that prolly won't help you! =)
When I needed to get motivated I'd usually make sure I'd eaten and had water in my system (little things, big difference!!) and put on some comfy pj's or something comfy.
THEN...i'd begin slowly, to put things where they go, hang clothes, put dirty ones in hampers, dishes all in the sink....whatever is surface in whichever room you want to start in. After just a few minutes things begin to look clean, tidy, and attractive and it would motivate me to keep going!! I usually ended by mopping and vacumming everything....
Sometimes to get myself motivated I'll pretend my grandma or a really picky friend just called and is on their way so I've got to hurry and get everything done!! (just dont' use that as an excuse to stuff everything or you'll be back in your same boat within a week!)
Like someone said above....make sure you spray your house with perfume or use yummy smelling cleaners or spray Febreze or something delicious!! Nothing like a clean, FRESH smelling pad!! AND you get positive reinforcement!! =)
Good luck and hope you're happily makin your house pretty!! =)

I can understand your plight... but why do you HAVE to clean your flat?
Personally, I just wait until I just can't stand the mess and it just happens: whisk whisk, dump dump, broom broom, mop mop...
It is surprising how litle time it takes when you are in the mood, driven by your own inner self, by something close to disgust towards the place...
A trip to the pub after that is a just reward.
My advice: if you are not in the mood, then wait until you are.

Put on some fast music that you can sing along to. You'll get into the music and have it done in no time. In fact when I do this I sometimes look for things to do so I can keep singing whilst cleaning!! Go girl!

The best thing is to postponed the job until you get a appropriate time and mood.it is a biological cycle running in our body which affects our mood time to time.Wait and watch should be a good policy for you dear.

Put on some up beat music and turn it up loud. Open all your drapes and let the light in. Then grab a trash bag and just start in one end of the flat and start picking up trash all the way through. That's they way I have to get myself started sometimes.

Do it when your in the mood. Like everything else in life it is more enjoyable when you want to do something rather than doing it because you feel obliged.
When the sun is shinning through the dust particles suspended in the air then it's time.

Um. Invite your mother/sister/aunt over. Then put on some music and start in one corner and work your way around methodically. Take a break every hour for coffee and give yourself a pat on the head... they'll probably cancel on you an hour or so before they are due...and you can curse me!!

Hopefully by now you have been cleaning. Sometimes it just takes a good look around at your living space and seeing all the mess and this may motivate you. Sometimes this works for me.
