Religious studies of any faith, including Christianity, are always permitted in public schools, as long as the study is reasonably objective and does not have the purpose of trying to get children to believe in the faith. When people like you want Christianity taught in public schools, you usually break that rule by disallowing criticism of Christianity, by having the purpose of getting children to believe (not just understand) Christianity, or some combination of the two. (You give a clear example of this attitude when you claim that an organization that disagrees with you on this issue must therefore be anti-American.) The problem is basically that people like you want to use teaching ABOUT religion as a way to try to win converts TO your religion, which is an impermissible use of tax dollars, because not every American has the same religious beliefs as you.
And the ACLU has successfully defended the civil liberties of religious organizations, street preachers, and the like, along with others whose civil liberties have been threatened or denied, regardless of their religious or political beliefs. They have in fact always defended the right of private schools to teach religion without the constraints placed on public schools; if you have a problem with the public schools, send your kids to a church school and quit your bellyaching. The ACLU is apparently much more fair-minded and American than you are, which says very little for you and faith you profess.

Check it out........
75% of Americans are Christians. Christianity doesnt NEED to be taught in school. However, 99% of Americans are afriad of Islam and its adherants...why? Because they know nothing about it. Why not stop hatred and discrimination at the source bny teaching children exactly what it is about? Schools are not PROMOTING THE RELIGION, as you would have done with Christianity in schools... they are promoting education. learning about something you havent a clue about. Something that many peoiple in this counttry could do well with...more education.
So stop being ignorant. It has nothing to do with teaching or promoting a religion, it has to do with educating our children.

i'm no longer an Atheist. i'm Deist. the two a sort of religions are incorrect, and not the two incorrect. Christianity is extremely sparkling approximately tolerance, appreciate and love for the neighbor, no rely if he's a sinner. Islam does not. Islam is radical approximately gay people, women people who do no longer stick to the dressing,or de the family individuals codes and against different faiths.

There is a long standing and recognized curriculum in the teaching of religious studies; including such majors at university and post graduate levels. But I suspect that you never reached that far.

You know the answer. The Democratic party seeks to abolish Christianity because Christians dare to vote Republican. That Islam is a death warrant for their beliefs is beside the point.

I would like to see the documentation on this, and exactly why and how the court made this decision, however, remember what one courts decides can be overruled eventually.

Perhaps Christians need to get a little louder. Tolerance doesn't seem to be working too well.
