As tolerant as I have always been for others, I never was very tolerant of myself. I am recently accepting myself as me, and trying very hard not to over-criticize myself. This is allowing me to be me, the real me.

Buying my house! Starting a new life on my own in a new town. It was the scariest, most rewarding thing I ever did & has set off a chain of events (playing music in my community, selling my artwork, meeting the man of my dreams) that has made me happier than ever. When you take a leap in the right direction, somehow everything falls into place...Change can be scary (especially for a control freak like me!) but it's the only way to grow as a person.

My becoming a vegetarian is the best thing for me. I am much healthier because of that! When I was a meat eater. I was skin and bones and couldn't gain wait. Doctors couldn't figure it out! But when I went to the local A&P store in 1980 for a pkg of economy weiners.. Mary Miles brand and they were $2.59 a pkg. at that price I decided.. meat is too expensive to eat so I went to substitutes which were cheaper at that time. I found myself finally gaining weight and the doctors finally discovered why finally gained weight.. I wasn't eating meat. When I ate meat it was blocking my arteries! I know most people lose weight when they become vegetarians. I didn't have weight to lose so I gained weight! If weiners hadn't been so expensive in 1980 I probably never would have become vegetarian!

I am not sure about a change.

The only change that I know has been. I went from being gay for 11 or 12 years. Now I am straight. Is it the best? I am not sure. Because I am still hurt.

Taking charge of my happiness.

No matter my attitude, the situation will remain the same. I can't wait until "after my promotion" or "when I get married" to be happy. I want that now, and I take full accountability for my mood.

It may sound stupid to you, but it has reversed my life. I am happy, and I love who I am.

When you stop feeling guilty about how you respond to others, and their wining self-centered needs, and guide your path well so others can not bring you down to their sorry level. Try to associate yourself with loving wise successful people.

Putting my faith and trust in Jesus and putting my life in His hands, years ago. I know what I was like, and I really, really needed to do it. I shudder to think of how much more selfish and bitter and depressed and nasty I would have been otherwise, both to myself and to everybody around me. I'd recommend Jesus to anybody.
