there have been a few, i'll admit it but then i remember not everyone here thinks like i do...
if they did we'd all be asking the same questions and none of us would be able to answer them. lol
It happens only if it was a serious question and serious answer. But some people just want to have their ears tickled and probably pick the answer that best suits their ego so... like someone asked a question in etiquette about parents' names on wedding invites. I gave them correct etiquette and also some considerations. Well, they picked the answer that said yes, out of respect, parents names should always be on invites (wrong etiquette wise). The person asking was a parent whose name was omitted from their child's wedding invite. How can I get picked a best answer if the person doesn't want the truth... ja know?

i've lost count of how many times i've asked myself that very question. especially for those questions that i put a lot of thought and research into. sometimes i look at the chosen answer and think, "what does his/her question have that mine doesn't?" i console myself by saying that question-asker and the chosen-answerer probably have this 'you pick mine, i pick yours' conspiracy going on. i'm sure that happens a lot anyways, especially for those abstract questions.
on the other hand, there have been times when i've asked myself, "why was my answer chosen? what was so special?" especially for those random 2-point answers.
i guess life's just like that. a box of chocolates.
still, don't let it discourage you...

No. I'm always surprised when I get the email saying that I got the best answer.

Nah... I can have silly answers... they're usually chosen as the best answer for some reason or another... I answer a question and usually forget about it...

It's more a case that I'm surprised if my answer is picked.
