I definately think he should have gotten the death penalty. Why pay for him to live? The families should have some kind of closure to the situation too. But he killed himself so now we don't have to worry about our tax dollars going to fund his execution either.

I agree with Jessica -- he should be tied up and shot just like he did to those girls. I'm glad he did himself in. The system is too soft on killers (most die on death row of old age, and usually spend at least 14 to 20 years before their sentences are carried out). Besides this, they're so concerned about "humane executions" that it ticks me off. They should be killed in the same manner as their victims.
Which brings up an interesting question: Why do they use sterile needles to inject a person they're executing with lethal drugs?
Anyway, sorry for digressing -- Yeah, if he was still alive, I think the nation would DEMAND the death penalty.

If I were in Law Enforcement,I would hand the Fathers all guns and allow them to do to him what he had done to their Daughters, even though I know the Amish would NOT use violence against another human being, but to me,(own personal opinon of course),that guy was NOT a human being,he was an animal like a rabid dog and should be destroyed and that would be shooting him. I would not bother to bury him,I would burn him in a pile of rubbish just like the trash he was. I do however, feel for his parents, siblings, wife, and children for having to continue living with what he did,he took the easy way out,and now the ones left have to deal with what he did,he won't have to. That is the most sad part of it. God's speed to all involved.

if he could be brought back to life he'd definiately deserve the death penalty. only a slower verison. toes, ankles, knees, etc. one by one, piece by piece. the government talks of terrorists, and this was an american that stole the innocence of beautiful little girls that will never have an opportunity to experience the joys of life. he shattered the hearts and lives of the amish families and the entire amish community. not to mention his wife, children, parents, and siblings and the pain and heartache that they will forever feel. May he burn in hell

I find it interesting that someone who professes a beleif in God would judge someone and have his nnutts and head chopped off.... Hardly a God like way to behave.
Why is it so many God-fearing nut jobs are all for the death penalty, but against abortion? Life is life, is it not?

You know I really don't understand those people who disagree with the death penalty. In a case like this where it could very well have been ANY ONE's child, would you not want that man dead (if he weren't already)? You would be nuts to want a man that has just killed your kid to go live. Also...I believe that any murder should die the same way they murdered. a murdering rapist should be raped and killed the same way he killed others..the same with the one guy who is on death row for chopping those people up and putting them in a deep freezer...he should be chopped up piece by piece. it is crazy to let these people go on with themselves knowing that even though the end is near, at least they will know they will go to sleep before they die....WHO GAVE THAT OPTION TO THEIR VICTIMS?!?!

I hate hearing about all of these senseless killings. I would have said yes give him the death penalty if he wasn't already dead. But since he killed himself, that's what he wanted anyway. Maybe he should have had a life sentence with no chance of parole so that he had the rest of his life to think about what he did.

If the death penality were an option, he would have been a prime candidate. I just don't understand how someone could do that to those poor little girls. What did the Amish ever do to anybody?

Yes, and I would have personally done the duty.
For crimes like these, I actually support death penalty by torture.
