Most gays and lesbians are born this way. There are many that don't discover their true selves until late in life and after many failed hetero relationships and/or marriages. Some know from early childhood! And yes, there are some who DO "decide" to be gay or lesbian. Either way whehter by choice or by genetics you should never treat gays or lesbians as anything other than HUMAN! Not saying that you do. Just my thoughts being thrown in the pot!

Yes, all lesbians are born female. How their chemical make up comes together will sometime help in determining their desires later in life. Some are too closely attached to their past life in which they were male. Some just have too much testosterone in their systems. After bad experiences with males some just choose the gentler female sex. So in answer to your questions; yes some are born that way and some choose to be that way.

I was born this way. Why would I choose to be an outcast from most of society? Why would I choose to have less rights than my straight friends? Don't get me wrong, I love who I am, but when people ask if we are born this way or not it does bug me.

No one seems to talk about them in public schools alot, either. Atleast, at mine they didn't. I think you're born that way, just from personal experience. Everyone has different views on the subject, though.

omg, this question as well as the gay men question has been asked a million times a day, instead of jumping to ask a question, which costs you 5 points, just look in the discovered section and find out what the soooooo many previous people said before you found out, and thats free, no points

I was dropped on my head as a baby which is why I'm gay (and may explain a lot of other things about me too!!!)
I don't know how you'd ever prove it, we don't start "lusting" after people until we're a few years old at least.
All I know is, I don't have any choice or say in the enormous attraction I feel towards women. I don't make myself feel it so I don't try to fight it.

Lesbians are born that way, bisexuals are born that way and homosexuals are born that way, straights are also born that way.

i think it will take a while before u realize u are lesbian. i guess for normal growth and development, the moment straight people pay attention to the opposite sex, will the time for gays to realize that they dont like the opposite sex.....there are lots of married women who comes out after being married for a while and had kids....sometimes they try to reppress the feelings for fear of unacceptance by society...and there are so many that will die a closet lesbian....for that fear alone... hope this answers ur question.... sometimes attraction to same sex in all girls school... just peer pressure... and need for attention... no guys to get attention from... grab the closest available.....
