what, just talk to random strangers?! No I just walk past unless they're raising funds for a charity. I'd find out what they're doing and usually give them any spare change I have.

It depends on the surrounding circumstances, and the amount of free time available to me, but for the most part, I do as most do, thus I walk on by, but often I extend them a courteous gesture of hello by nodding my head with a "How ya doin"

If I make eye contact, I usually smile or say hello. I live in the Tn. though.
