I've had numerous kidney stone attacks in the past, so I've got some pointers for you:

1. As previously stated, go see a doctor. In particular, a urologist.
2. Drink lots of water throughout the day, about 8 glasses. Don't do it all at once. Figure a glass every 2 hours.
3. Depending on the chemical composition of your kidney stones, you might want to cut back on the consumption of meat and dairy products. Only do so if you doctor advises.
4. Drink the juice of a freshly squeezed citrus fruit per day. Preferably lemons. The citric acid will help to eat away at any stones that may be forming.

If you are in the midst of a kidney stone attack, drink as much water as you possible can as soon as you can, then get to a doctor/hospitable. The massive water intake will make push the stones out via pressure.

Good luck!

I'm not sure if you're asking how to prevent from getting them or if you have one and need relief from the pain.

I've had more stones than I care to count. Had one that I had lithotripsy on 4 times and its still there. Depending on the composite makeup of the stone, its hard to tell you what you should or shouldn't do. In my case, I was told to lay off cokes (which I adore), avoid foods high in calcium. I found out my body makes an overabundance of calcium and that was causing the formation of the stones. So I stay away from cheese, milk, ice cream as well as pastas. Also, drinking lots of water. If you absolutely don't like water, get the flavored water, its not carbonated and you'll still be getting your water. Cranberry juice usually is only effective for urinary tract infections so it doesn't really help so much with a stone, just gives you fluids to help flush it is all. Also, eating pineapples and drinking pineapple juice is a good way of reducing the frequency that you get stones.

If you have one now and are wanting relief, there is only one thing you can do. Go to the doctor and get you some kick *** pain killers and go home, take your drugs, drink lots of water and hope for the best. You want to see your doctor though to determine if the stone is passable. Its possible that its too large to pass without getting lodged someplace and THAT is SO not fun. If its small enough to pass, follow the previous advice. If its not, the doctor will recommend lithotripsy or removal depending on the size of the stone. If its 10-20mm or less, lithotripsy is the way to go, anything more than that, have removed because the debris from the lithotripsy will be way too much to deal with. Lithotripsy breaks them up into pieces, unfortunately though, they don't always break up as small as you'd like and you're still left with passing 20 smaller stones as opposed to one large one. But definately go get checked out.

Oh my gosh, I completely experience for you. I had kidney stones in February. It replaced into the main painful ingredient i've got ever experienced. regrettably there is not any longer something which will dissolve the stone, except this is better than 2 MM and then the docs could break it up with a laser. good information: it does not harm popping out the pee hollow, I continually concept it may. as quickly because it makes it on your bladder, the soreness will ease up fairly. assistance: stay removed from caffine and alcohol, shop on ingesting numerous water, and basically take it hassle-free. be sure which you're straining your urine, so which you will capture the stone and deliver it into the lab for sorting out and that that they had have the means to aid you comprehend what led to it. Oooh, good success to you. this is going to likely be over quickly.

Lots of water (make it a habit, stones or no stones), like 2 L per day at a minimum.
Lots of celery juice (cook it and drink the water)
But kidney stones are painful... go to your doctor.

cranberry juice does absolutely crap for a kidney stone.

You have a kidney stone? Go to the doctor if it doesn't pass in a day or so. If you keep looking for 'home remedies' for too long, you'll develop a serious kidney and urinary tract infection, not to mention running the risk of hemmorhage and ureter rupture or obstruction if it's too large to pass on its own.

There is no remedy for kidney stones. You either pass them or have them removed. There is several methods of removal so you can take you pick. Cranberry juice is good for the kidneys and urinary track, so after you pass that stone, drink up.

I would have a doctor check you out first, just to see what should be done. The only home remedy I know is for after you have a doctor take care of your stone. And you must be 21. So I would see a doctor.

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.

They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!

This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.

It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.
