Controversies exist. They always have; they always will. The media has a responsibility to present facts. In a perfect world those fact would be unbiased. Simply the facts. As we are aware, we do not live in a perfect world. The media allows personal opinions and beliefs to influence the way they report. A prime example is the election fiasco in Florida. Had the talking heads kept their mouths shut until the election was over, there probably wouldn't have been any issues whatsoever. The fact that they called the state's winner three hours before the polls closed (Florida is in two time zones) was horribly irresponsible. In that particular case, the media created the controversy.

They fuel the fire for their own personal gain, not for the betterment of the particular situation. It is all about ratings, nothing more, nothing less. They are a business.
