I have had abnormal pap tests every since I have started having the tests (I was 17 the first time I had one and I just turned 25) I have had 2 or 3 biopsies...the most recent one was yesterday. I don't remember getting the results from the 2 previous ones. I have been looking up some info online about cervical cancer and I can't really get an answer about symptoms to look for. I do from time to time have a lot of pain and discomfort during intercourse, but no bleeding. The colpo yesterday was extrememly uncomfortable. I have 2 weeks before I get the results. I guess I just want to know other women's experiences with this. And will I ever have a normal pap? I don't want to keep having biopsies every year b/c of the abnormalities.

A pap smear does not prevent cervical cancer. It is only a test that helps to identify cervical cancer or the possibility of cervical cancer. Recent research suggests that many cases of cervical cancer are caused by the Human Pappilomavirus (HPV) which is a sexually transmitted disease. HPV is not the ONLY thing that causes cervical cancer though. There are other risks that may lead to it. Those include smoking, HIV infection, family history, ect. So, just because someone gets cervical cancer, that does not mean they have HPV. I hope this helps you.

im 22 now and i started getting abnormal paps when i was 19...its just somethig that doesnt bother me anymore, because everytime they do a biopsy it comes back ok...same with i always expect the call of the results from the pap, its just getting expensive because i have to go for a pap every 3 months and my insurance only covers once a year...i would have very painful menstral cramps and bloating but no real pain during sex. It acts differently to every person and there arent really any "symptoms" but most doctors look at painful sex or painful cramps as a caution

First, there are no symptoms to cervical cancer. Second, you having discomfort with sex might be to; too dry, too wide/long, or not going in correctly. The only "cure" to cervical cancer is to have your cervic's removed and then of course you will have to be fixed because without a cervic's there is nothing to hold a baby in. Third, I would call your OBG/YN to get your last results before making any "big" decisions, because let me tell you, when you get fixed...it will take a mental toll on you! I had cervical cancer the same week I found out I was pregnant and let me tell you it was scarry the whole time, I almost lost my little girl but I had another girl I had to think of. Lucky by the grace of God I have two girls, but I have been fixed for 9 years and I am only 32...It hurts soo bad to see others with babies, and it hurts even worse when you see someone your age or older pregnant! If you don't have to be fixed and you can safe that, please do. Get your last results first and then go from there.

No I have never had one.
But you need to find out the results of the first two that you had.
What did they say the course for treatment would be?
I hope everything works out for you
Good Luck!
