Yes! Yes! Yes! It is soooo maddening when the station breaks into the commercial. Goes back to the race, to find there is a red or yellow flag. It is like getting to a sale to find out they are sold out. Sooo maddening.

Most Definitely! How many times just this past week did NBC come back in only to see the cars following a pace car? Seemed like about 5 or so. This is a different sport then the other mainstream ones. I mean football, baseball, basketball, and hockey all have commercials during breaks in the action so they can't even be compared.
NASCAR if you are listening, IRL is doing something a ton better then you! Step up!

I'm all in favor of "side by side" coverage like ABC has. Personally, I would prefer a "picture in picture" format so the commercial is as unobtrusive as possible. Or better yet, no commercials. Since NASCAR is so sponsor-driven, that will never happen. According to Marty Smith on nascar.com last week, the side-by-side thing is all about the TV agreements. With ABC/ESPN coming to NASCAR, who knows? It will give Rusty more air time next year.

HELL YES!! Everytime they go to a commercial we wind up missing something important during the race. For example, let's use last week's race...Elliott Sadler and Jamie McMurray both had problems and they didn't even tell us what happened.
They need to have the split screen during commercials so we can still be updated about what's happening during the race.

Yes, I hate NBC becuase its the non stop commercial network because they dont know how to announce and they dont tell you what happened in the race because 9 times out or 10 you miss something becuase of a stupid commercial and I'm so glad that they are not going to be doing half of the season and their doing maybe 3 races... what a relief....

YES, you know NBC and TNT say they break from commercials and come back when there's a caution. While watching the race Sunday, I had the TV on in the living room, but I was doing some yard work outside and had the radio on listening to MRN. MRN announced a caution (I think it was for Reed Sorrenson) I went into the living room to see what was going on, AND I HAD TO WAIT THROUGH 3 MORE COMMERCIALS !!! NBC is definitely not holding up their end of the bargain.
YES, split screen would be awesome!!!!!

Why not? It works in Indy Car.
They used to interrupt the commercials when something happened in the race, but they quit doing that too?
The radio was talking about #24's problems, getting pushed by the #44 and cars running out of fuel for 5 minutes before TV came back on.

They tried it a few years ago (2001? 2002?) and the companies running the commercials felt slighted, so they scrapped the idea. They tried it with the audio and a smaller screen for the commercial, and a larger screen for the race, and they had a fit.
