My name Is Johnny Giles and these are my phobias: Someones hair brushing up against my skin, eyeballs, enclosed spaces. Kittens, and long finger nails. But my worst of all phobia is seeing, hearing and being near liberals

Keep in mind that some of your responders don't know the real definition of what a phobia is. If you "dislike something strongly" - it's not a phobia! If someone has a list of 10 phobias, don't consider them as being truthful. In reality, if someone had 10 phobias, they would not be able to function at all in society and would most likely be in a mental institution or would be a "shut-in". If you had that many phobias, you would have so many phobic reactions on a day to day basis, that you would likely develop Agoraphobia, which is the king of all phobias!

For example, your responder that talked about a fear of spiders and how he would go on a "seek and destroy mission" to kill them. That's not a phobia! A person with a phobia of spiders is so fearful of them, he would not dare go near one to kill it! A key element of the definition of phobia is avoidance!

Heights over water. I don't know why. I stood on the edge of the Grand Canyon and I was fine. I can fly and be alright with it. But standing on a bridge even if its just 4 or 5 feet high scares the living bejeezus out of me.

I would never admit my phobia online, because then people would start emailing pictures of them/it to me. A real phobia is not something to mess around with. I did once tell a guy online what my phobia was and a few minutes later he was "sending me his picture." It was definitely not him. My sister had to come in and get the picture off of my screen because I was on the floor, barely breathing.

Thank you so much Daniel for saying so! I was going to say it myself, but I didn't want everyone to get all crazy and think I was insulting them. You are so right. A phobia is a terrible thing to live with and I would never wish it on anyone. Everytime I go to certain locations I have to be very aware of what is going on around me just to avoid the object of my phobia and I hate having to live that way. I have to flip past certain channels on the television because I know that those networks are more likely to have commercials that contain the object of my fear. I can't even have anyone talking about these things in my presence. People just don't understand how severe it is until they see what happens to me when I hear about or see what it is I am afraid of.

I am unnaturally afraid of any sharp object pointing up. I believe this is the result of a freak childhood injury where I had a straw jammed up my nose resulting in gushing blood.
