I'm off to Tokyo this friday, but since its almost gonna be a rush hour and I will be jetlegged, I"m thinking of taking a taxi from Narita to Tokyo. How expensive can it be?
Also, if anyone has any suggestions about some decent (not too expensive) hotel in Tokyo, please let me know (soo many webistes but not really any trustworthy reviews). I will be probably staying in Tokyo for 2 or 3 days only...
Best regards,
L.

Oh no, don't take the taxi from Narita to Tokyo. It's extremely expensive (probably a hundred dollars or so), not to mention that it'll take forever because you'll go through regular traffic.
There is a train you can take called the Narita Express, and it stops at Tokyo. It's a lot cheaper (about 35$), roomier, and faster. They even say the stops and destinations in English, which is what you won't get if you catch a cab.

A taxi from Narita to downtown Tokyo will be VERY expensive, about 20000 Yen!! It's pretty far to downtown.... so I wouldn't recommend a taxi. There are trains though from Narita to Tokyo. When I went I took the Keisei skyliner, which stops in Ueno and Nippori, and costs about 2000 Yen for the limited express, or 1000 Yen for the commuter train stopping at everystop. The skyliner was pretty good once acctually on the train, but the Keisei station is a pretty far walk from the main Ueno station, but you can transfer to the Yamanote line from the Nippori station.
There's also the Friendly Airport Limosine, a bus going between NRT and stops in Tokyo for about 3000 Yen. That one makes stops at some hotels as well.
The sourced site has a bunch of the different options to take, and links to how you can get tickets~
I hope this helps!

Taking a taxi to tokyo from narita will cost over 100 bucks, don't do it! Instead, decide which hotel you're going to be staying at and then take the "Airport Limosine", which costs 3000 yen, or roughly $30 US, directly to that hotel. The limo goes to all of the major hotels in central Tokyo, but you have to specify at the limo ticket counter where you want to get to. They have a booth right where you come out in the arrival terminal after you get through customs declaration, just take a look around when you get out. This way you can spend more money on the hotel, which is crucial if you want to enjoy your stay in Tokyo. For my money, I would go for Grand Hyatt Tokyo in Roppongi, Akasaka ANA Hotel or if you want a place with historic merit, Imperial Hotel in Hibiya or Hotel Okura. Also, you can take airport limo even if you're not reserved at the destination hotel; you can also take the train but its not as nice as the limo service in my opinion.

Are you flyig on this Friday? looking for decent hotels yet??
Hotels in Tokyo can be full easily. Japanese like traveling and there are tons of business men in Tokyo. Tourists start to book 1 month before.
Taxi from Narita to Tokyo will be more than JPY 20,000. Take limousine bus. It is just JPY 3,000.

or take JR train to Tokyo or Sklyliner to Ueno station.
You will get the information of departure time at arrival hall of the Narita airport.
I found vacancy at this hotel. but cheap rooms are already full.

Catch a train. It will be very tight in Rush hour but its ALOT cheaper. trust me, im in Japan now. Get on a train, get to your hotel and SLEEP.
Trains to and from Narita to several destinations are frequent.
Hotel. Tokyo Intl Youth Hostel. We changed at 3-4 trains from Narita. You have to go to Idabashi. Get help at the airport and book acom. before you leave or you may find yourself with no where to sleep!
At TIYH, you may have to share with compleate strangers but you will find that evryone is friendly. The staff speek decent english
Happy holday in Nihon (Japan)

Take the Keisei Skyliner or the JR Narita express. The taxi will take forever to get into town, and it's expensive.
