They were drug dealers in the same crew. They referred to each other as brothers as most youth in the inner city find brothers and cousins out of convenience. At the end of the movie, G money refers to "Am i my brother's keeper" an in Abel and Cain in the Bible. Nino kills him after telling him that he is responsible. " Yes I am"
