I would highly disagree that you are born selfless. Being selfless is a choice.

Absolutely not!!!! My husband's ex is a medical doctor. She is more worried about her "appearences" then how her children are coping with her "lifestyle" away from the hospital. Educated does mean moral or ethical.

Selflessness is an inherent quality that a person is born with. Just like honesty, truthfulness and integrity, are inherent qualities which cannot be taught, selflessness also cannot be taught.
Knowledge is a skill which can be acquired through education. Skills can be learnt or developed, but that is not the case with inherent qualities like selflessness.
Neither knowledge nor education can make any impact on a person's selflessness.

Education will only give you better ideas on how to be selfless, it can't teach you the ability to feel and express compassion for the tribulations of others. This feature of character is usually developed about the age of two or three, when learning how to share. Which is what selflessness is all about, really. The ability to forego one's own preferences in deference to the needs of others. Knowledge and education won't evince such generosity in people, it only gives them shape.

No, it did just the opposite for me. I have so much knowledge that I have become more selfish. Ignorance truly is bliss.

Not nessecarily. I know educated people who are complete jerks and think only about themselves. It can go both ways.
