These movies are usually low budget, tailor made for ad breaks , unknown actors and mostly shot indoors . and 5 minutes through the movie you realise its a tv movie

I dont' mind them. They typically aren't great, but then as you said they are lower budget so as much money isn't wasted as when a Hollywood flick flops.

The actors are often unknowns...but many times they become knowns (gotta start somewhere) and that's also part of why the movies are able to maintain a lower budget (not paying high celebrity wages).

They are something to watch (if I'm in the mood for TV) besides sitcoms, news, or sports...or Hollywood reruns edited for time, content, and to fit your screen.

I would tend to agree, but there are two made for TV movies that are standouts as exceptions to the rule.

The recent "The Path to 9/11" a two-part series on CBS (ABC?) and a while back Kathy Bates was in a moving drama called "My Sister's Keeper," about mental illness and a sister who had bipolar disorder.

Yes, they are awful and have names like Mother May I, or Give Me Back My Baby. The latter would probably be shown on Lifetime...supply of pantyhose network.

I also can't stand the low budget black plays like Mamma I Can't Sing Worth A D**n and A Good Man is Hard to Find (retch, gag...puke)

One of my favorite movies of all time is "Lonesome Dove." I believe it was a 6-part made-for-TV movie. I agree with another answer here (it depends on the movie and who's in it). I don't know of anybody, anywhere, who likes ALL movies, whether in theaters or on TV.

i think it depends on who and what its on.... I loved the made for tv movie Avalon. (mystical movie about king arthur and other legends) but yes most do suck. But hey remember most of the B-rated movies from the 80's are now classics!
