David Copperfield is an illusionnist but not a superb magician if you ask me.

On the contrary, the stage which supposed to show where SoL situated, he invented/rotated it by himself. All the gadjets, projector, machine and etc were computer generated from HIS production team. They have to sign agreement swearing the secrecy and the tecnique from the public. His shows were like circus or troops with great lighting, stage rotated, platforms ,smoke, lazer, screen to divert people attention to perform the 'magic'.The fact is if you look SoL at that time at different angles, nothing dissapeared.

David's free flight / float is the most confusing trick. Is it visually trick and techno trick (eq. magnetic levitation) the magician called it? The pressure of the air released was so strong from the ground which made him float. Same like water, could make a ball float on the top of a fountain. Confused? By technology scientists use to float a ball known as levitation. Plus he use KEVLAR strings. Scientist knows this kind of string are used in space! One string can handel 100kg and they look like fishing line. In this connection, many “authorities” state that Copperfield really levitates, but by invisible threads in blue light or by using a very expensive holographic illusion. Lighting and screen difficult for the audience to see. You have to remember, Mr Copperfield like to perform in the confined area like in the studio, too.
I think David Blaine is my favourate and I begin to understand why Mr. Copperfield is no longer famous and relevant as a magician nowdays! He just enhanced science and technique.
His bubble has been broken by the media!

Illusions my dear illusions.they use a very thin rope to make him fly, and for the statue of liberty, tht would be hypnosis or some kinda trick.

The audience was on a platform that slowly rotated away from it, and they turned off the lights to the statue. You can read about it on some links that google would return.
