Tips to control anger
Relax while you feel the mood to be angry
Simple relaxation tools, such as deep breathing and relaxing imagery, can help calm down angry feelings. There are books and courses that can teach you relaxation techniques, and once you learn the techniques, you can call upon them in any situation.
Some simple steps you can try:
Breathe deeply, from your diaphragm; breathing from your chest won't relax you. Picture your breath coming up from your "gut."
Slowly repeat a calm word or phrase such as "relax," "take it easy." Repeat it to yourself while breathing deeply.
Use imagery; visualize a relaxing experience, from either your memory or your imagination.

I control my anger by reading from scriptures. I evaluate the situations, and try not to take irrational action. Why did this event cause me to feel anger? Is it justified anger? What can I do to assuage this feeling? Must I forgive someone for an action against me? I try to act in a Christlike manner.
For sorrow, I weep if the situation dictates. It is important to feel the emotion completely. Otherwise, it will remain. I try to decide what is causing me sorrow. If it is a friend, I must let go of them or we must resolve the issue between us. Sometimes, I must bear sorrow alone. It is important in those times to turn to the Lord. Also, to grieve. It is okay to be distressed or sad about a situation. But it is important to rise above it also.

Anger, sorrow, greed, lust etc are the way mind attaches with external forms and its changes. External forms as such doesn't carry these emotions. But you carry. If you look at your anger the way it arises and goes off, you have won the first level of taming the anger. Why I say 'the anger' is, when you think, the anger is yours and you get attached with that emotion, you think you are getting angry and then anger takes you for a ride. But, instead if you could understand the way impersonal anger arises, attaches your self with that and makes you to act upon that, you will be slowly able to come out of
first from reaction to anger
second immediate appearace and disappearance of anger
third reduction of such occurances
fourth complete victory over anger
Same with all other emotions also possible.

When ever I am angry I just tell myself that I have to keep my mouth shut else I might end up saying something which I will regret later in life & it wont make me a happy or a better person .
Sorrow, what sorrow ? Its just another emotion of our life struggling to overcome our mind & heart & then I make myself stronger by happily accepting whatever is the sad news .
I take all these negative emotions as a test of my patience & when there is such a situation , winning is not just my necessity but my habit .

By trying to be calm and think calmly, slowly, cautiously so that the anger does not get the best of you. Sorrow is always bore by sharing with your close ones rather than bearing it alone so that the effect is reduced dramatically.

NEVER EVER submerge either of these human emotions! Release your anger at the time it occurs, such as, if a disrespectful driver cuts you off, then flip him/her the bird and yell at the top of your lungs what ever comes to mind, and regardless the fact of your immediate location, release those tears of sorrow when sadness strikes. Keep in mind that depression is submerged rage, thus people should not be seeking chemical substances to correct depression.
