You need to tell this person what you feel, and that you are not interested in him any longer. He may feel bad, but he may use the information to clean up his act. Do not worry about his feelings as you are being forced into living a lie and that is not good

No point in putting off the real story. Just tell them your intrests have changed and end it as soon as you can. Or teach them what to do.
