Temazepam belongs to the major tranquilizer group of medications, the benzodiazipines. Whatever you do, DO NOT stop taking them abruptly. You need to wean yourself off them gradually, under the supervision of your GP. I'm surprised your GP hasn't suggested this already - if s/he won't help you, ask to see a different doctor. It won't be easy to come off them, but it can be done...good luck. :)

Yes, it's very addictive and I was hooked on it years ago. You can get a reducing pack (gradually reduced dose) through your GP that will get you off it in the safest way. But what is your idiot doctor doing prescribing the stuff for you year after year??? That is SO irresponsible. Report them to the local health authority!

Hi I too was taking this drug for many years, and suffered bad withdrawal symptoms, I tried to withdraw on my own but ended up in a bit of a state and asked my GP for help. It was a long struggle but came out the other end, go and ask your GP for help and advice, good luck

Temazepam is a benzo. They are a highly addictive class. In order to feel what you used to with it, you do have to exceed the present dose. However, your only asking for trouble. I would ask to be switched to something else, something less addictive. There are other options. Lunesta is a safer option.

Hi Lottie>
Yup Tamezipan can become addictive.
Same with any mind-altering thing.
Have a word with your local advice centre.
Basically - live nicely without it.
Can be done, if a bit tricky for a while.

All the best

Bob

Yes, you can get addicted.
Go see your Gp.
Unless he's one of these tossers who just repeats prescriptions without due care....
