There is no national age of consent. That is set by the state not the feds, just like the speed limit, drinking age, etc. The Feds can (and do) influence but the states still have those sovereign rights.

It doesn't matter what the age of consent is, or that he did not have sex with the boy. Republicans hold their members to a higher standard than Democrats and this was clearly an abuse of power. He had to go.

Actually, you need to do your research.
Check out the bill Foley co-sponsored called the Adam Walsh Child Safety Bill or the Federal Bills out there on internet child molestation.
Those federal bills supercedes the state mandate.
