If strive we not for perfection, what have we?

For so have we been commanded, and so we are capable of being, through the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

A certain degree of happiness we may obtain, but ne'r shall we be happier than when we are pure in Christ.

Perfection is an idea an ideal born from a confused mind.
We live in opposites this breeds conflict in us.
The conflict between what we actually are and what we think we should be.
We think if we strive towards that ideal it will change us make us more.
It doesnt!
Realise you are as human being imperfect and strive to understand that, with no condemnation.
Understanding a mind that can invent an idea like perfection, project it as reality, then strive to reach it,frees one from the bogus drive to become more.

The quest for perfection is the best way for self improvement, and isn't there some religion - Buddism? - that you are supposed to try and reach a level of perfection?

On the subject of perfection and normality: If man (or woman) is imperfect (i.e., has defects), and all humans are imperfect, shouldn’t we conclude, regardless of our belief system, that imperfection is normal. In other words, in the land of blind where everyone is blind, isn’t being blind normal? In the land of imperfect people, isn’t it normal to be imperfect? So why seek perfection when 1) we know it’s not possible and 2) everyone is imperfect anyway so why worry about it.
