Conflict is too broad of an idea. What kind of the conflict does the teacher mean? Is it asking for a story about a personal conflict or a reflection of a conflict in a story or in history. Once you have the answers, you will begin to have a basis on writing your essay.

First you have to find out what kind of conflict you want to write about. It could be a political conflict a social conflict or any other. Then from there on you can start your article.

We can have conflicting thoughts ( when we are unsure whether something is right or wrong). And there can be violent conflict such as two people or countries fighting. When two people are in an argument it is understood to be a conflict of interest. So perhaps conflict is when there are two competing entities.
