of course! You'ld think that with a demographic that keeps detailed logs of every inconsistency in every episode ever made, they'ld be smart enough to not make a prequel. On top of that, the biggest appeal of Star Trek is the optimistic future. Enterprise didn't have that at all. Not only is there no federation, but the lighting on the ship made it look like some sort of evil dungeon! You can hardly see anything! Oh, and then there's the episode where archer refuses to give life-saving medicine to a planet that's on the verge of extinction from a lethal plague. He uses some screwed up form of the Prime Directive as reasoning, even though there is no Prime Directive, and there is, as of yet, no reason for there to be a prime directive. Then there's the retarded "vulcan" chick who's more emotional than counselor Troi from TNG.
All in all, the problem was that it wasn't Star Trek. Star Trek is famous for its technobabble giving logical reasons for why everything happens. Enterprise had inconsistency after inconsistency. Star Trek has an optimistic utopian society. Enterprise doesn't. Star Trek has captains who have personality. Enterprise has some monotone half-assed "actor." If they actually make another Star Trek that stays true to what the demographic wants from it, then I'm sure it'll be popular.

Life in Trek yes, should there be more trek not for a least 10 years. Enterprise was a great show, the purpose of which was to show how the era's of kirk ,picard/ds9/voy came to be.

Yes, my husband is one of the consumers and a group of about 1000 that meet in Florida every year are consumers of the franchise. Granted, this is a select group, but there are opportunities for expansion if one puts effort into it.

Absolutely. what they need to do is forgot all this prequel stuff and get back to what made the original series great:
Exploring strange new worlds and seeking new life and new civilizations. Boldly going where no one has gone before.

I think so. They just need someone who understands the importance of continuity and has a sense of direction. They also need to understand and know their audience.
