When the "you-know-what" hit the fan. They hid. We found one and the other one is hiding so well ( in an allied country that we cannot invade) we can't locate him.

WHY don't people realize these are COWARDS.
And cowards are VERY DANGEROUS in the fact that they will be the first to employ the "scorched earth" philosophy.
They have nothing to lose (because they are losers) and so will not think twice about dropping "the bomb"

THIS IS WHY we do not want these rogue nations to have nuclear power.

On an even MORE related note, why do the brainless masses follow the uneducated hollywood types, like Green Day?

It boils down to a simple phrase;
"Those who fight and run away, live to fight another day."

I wouldn't go so far as to call them cowards, though. Most are willing to die for their ideals. They just want to do it on their terms.

"Scorched Earth" was used most famously by the retreating Russians during WWII and is not "cowardly", but a fairly effective war tactic. Much earlier, Robert the Bruce used these tactics to hold off the English King Edward’s forces when the English invaded Scotland. (Sorry, I love to throw in a Scottish connection once in a while, regardless of how irrelevant)

As far as nuclear power goes, energy grade plutonium is very different from weapons grade. Weapons grade is much more highly enriched. I have no problem with Iran, with constant inspections by the IAEA, having nuclear power. It is not our place to tell them otherwise.

If Saddam and bin Laden are cowards for hiding and letting others do the "dirty work", GWB would fall into that category, too. That's the way war works, though. Rich old men sending the young off to die. (That reminds me of a song)

Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave their role to the poor

Sorry, couldn't resist...

People follow these individuals mostly out of societal influence. They have been indoctrinated into a way of thinking since a very early age. Unlike most nations where religion is a choice and does not drive political and economic systems, these nations are ruled first and foremost by religion. People like Osama Bin Laden take advantage of this and twist the teachings of the Islamic faith to satisfy their need for power and influence. Saddam on the other hand, ruled out of the classic dictator stance using power and fear of death as his instrument. Both of these methods are similar in the fact that it exploits a cultures beliefs and fears to force submission, or deluded obedience.

Actually by the Oxford definition those guys do not qualify as cowards.

The primary cause of following Saddam was fear. Remember the Son in law that was filmed killing himself. Saddam as dinner entertainment told the guy to kill himself and he did.

His widow (Saddam's daughter) said he had no choice. Either a bullet to the heart or a brutal torture.

Bin Laden is a different story. Not a military hero but he did fearlessly help the fallen soldiers in the years of Soviet occupation. More of a folk hero than a coward.

It is unfortunate that Americans have lost 50% of their vocabulary in just 3 decades. It previously took 400 years to meet that same goal. At our current rate of decline we should be down to a few primal words by the time the Chinese take over.

I hate, you hate, they hate.
I hungry, you hungry, they hungry.
I kill, you kill, they kill.
I sleep, you sleep, they sleep.

Bush hid on 9/11. And we all understood why. I guess if we showed these countries that the western way of life is different than theirs, they might listen. But the wars in their streets continue, escalated because the administration decided to preemptively go to war with Iraq for no clear reason, and we aren't backing off or admitting failure. We are all humans, and if there are a group of humans somewhere that believes that they need a terrorist regime to fight off the people occupying thier land, there must be a good reason why...kind of like when all of us united behind Bush on 9/11...we were attacked on our OWN soil, and wanted to unite against us. See? Not too difficult to understand. Now, what is the administration going to do about it?

Men and women follow cowards like binLaden and Saddam for the same reason gullible 'ditto heads' follow cowards like George W. Bush and Donald Rumsfeld.
They're brainless morons who choose to believe whatever pabulum is spoon-fed to them without having to think for themselves, without questioning the purpose behind such tripe, and without bothering to investigate any further than what the government press release states. Skepticism is good, particularly when it comes to "follow the leader".
George Bush, in collusion with the most contemptible, corrupt, evil, arrogant, incompetent U.S. Congress in history, is the world's biggest coward, sending 3,000 U.S. soldiers to their deaths (not to mention 41,000 Iraqis) all because he has a personal vendetta against Hussein and because his boss, Dick Cheney, covets all that OIL swimming underneath Iraq's sands.
Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld need to be sent to the front lines in Iraq and actually lead the battle (but you'd better make sure they're all issued several changes of underwear, because these miserable cowards would get the s**t scared out them in a matter of minutes). Why criticize cowards like binLaden and Hussein when Bush and Cheney are their equals? -RKO-

because most people are sheep and will follow anyone who says what they want to hear. that's why people followed Hitler, Saddam, Bin Laden, Bush(senior), Bush (short bus). It's not what they shovel, it's HOW they shovel it.
Short bus got the congress to back his warrant less wire taps and the okay to torture under the guise of "being tough on terrorists" while ignoring the definitive statement that "ALL men are created equal".

Bin Laden has bin ded for years. But If they told you that youy would not feel the need for revenge and would quit supporting the war for oil. I support the war for oil. I couldn't give a crap about getting bin laden. he isn't gonna heat my house this winter, oil is.

Have you never wondered how a sick with diseases old man like binladen get younger and healthier in every video they make.

Saddam did not have WMD ( no need to pluralise, weapons of mass destruction is already plural on weapons instead of weapon) But he did have oil, and when he started messing with the price is when he became public enemy #1. pay attention.

Exactly. They are dangerous barbarians who are completely without conscience. They must never be allowed to develop nuclear weapons.

Because that is all they can do to survive. They aren't necessarily bad people, but bad people (OBL, et al) controll them.

If following the crowd is the only way to eat, people do it.
