one second round game,
one quarter final,
one semi-final and
the final

That's not mentioning the qualifying stages which varies depending which continent you're from: In Europe you play anout seven teams (home and away), In South America all the teams play each other and in Africa the top teams from the african cup of nations qualify.

Doesn´t depend on the number of games you play but on the number of games you win during the qualifying. You have to be first or second in your group.

this depends on which group you are playing in,IE the south American group is made up of more teams than euro groups,but basically you play each team in your group at home and away,so if your country had 6 teams in there group you would play ten games, because obviously you dint play yourself.
England are due to play a European championship qualifier on sat 7th against Macedonia , 5.00pm GMT

if you're the host or champ's none you get automatic qualification
