I wrote my high school research paper on that. According to the American Psychological Association, violent video games DO have negative effects on children, however, I couldn't find anywhere on their website where they cite any sources to back their claims. I did, however, find quite a few websites which debunk several of the studies most commonly cited by persons claiming that video games are harmful.

Actually, I think it depends on the maturity of the kid. I mean if the students or children know that what they are playing, its just for fun then obviously that wont have a negative effect but on the other hand if they think that the events that are taking place in the game can also be replicated in real world, then it will indeed have a negative effect. So if children are made to understand that games are just for fun and that it cant and shouldnt be repicated in real life, then I dont find a reason why it should have a negative effect.
This is so in my view atleast.

I have to be honest here I have played video games all my life since I was 6......It has had an effect like I am very violent towards some people and I am easy to make angry but........No video games don't affect kids in a bad way. It's the parents who don't stop their kids from making bad desicions and junk.

father and mom enable their toddlers watch too a lot television. the youngsters of direction see the brilliant categorised classified ads of video games (it truly is at the same time as media is presented in), and ask their father and mom to purchase them - in both polite and naughty recommendations. many father and mom sense in the adventure that they don't get some thing for his or her baby, they are going to imagine they don't love them. hence, many toddlers finally end up spending evenings and weekends taking section in the video games.
