Not all Bamboo are invasive. Just know that there are "running" types of Bamboo and "clumping" types of bamboo. "Running" are the invasive types. "Clumping" types behave very nicely and play well with others. Transplanting should be a breeze. The best thing you could do after transplanting is water water water. Bamboos like lots of water. And don't worry if they eventually drop lots of leaves. That's the way groves of them are in the wild(and at the arboretums). :-) Good luck.

You can transplant them where you live anytime. They are the most idiot-proof plant that exists. If you try to fail with them, they'll still probably grow. Just make sure they are contained because they are very invasive and will go everywhere if you don't stop them.
